So, I made another phone call to our provincial adoption agency (there is only one in the province, which is then divided into counties..) I was contacted the next day by a local social worker, who said although they haven't made the official decision to start intakes again, they are having a meeting in a few weeks and she is almost positive intakes will be resuming after that for all applications. This is fantastic, and we are hoping for a phone call around the end of May. Coincidentally, that is also my birthday (26th). So, I'm looking forward to the end of the month for two reasons!
National Infertility Awareness Week has been bringing me some solace. So many people are posting their pictures and spreading the word about infertility. It makes me feel so much less alone. Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples, but for some reason nobody ever discusses it. There are so many options available to those that suffer from every sort of infertility nowadays, compared to even 5 or 10 or 15 years ago. It's amazing to see the internet come together for causes like our's!
Thanks for reading everyone! I will keep you posted on the adoption front!
